I worked for Rick Stein at his Seafood Restaurant in Padstow at age 16. The head chef put me on the pastry section (I thinks because I was a girl), I requested to work on the larder where the crates would come in daily straight from the boats and I spent my days gutting and filleting fish!
In this class I will teach you some simple ways to cook beautiful WA seafood, lots of these dishes are Rick Stein recipes from all those years ago!
On the Menu
Crispy skinned Barramundi, vanilla vinaigrette
Moules mariniere (garlic cream sauce) with homemade Focaccia
Thai fish cakes with dipping sauce
Goan Fish curry with kachumber, rice and flatbreads
What do I need?
Our venue is not licensed so please BYO drinks (including alcohol) to enjoy with your food, there is no drinking for the first hour until all the chopping is done, then you are welcome to have a drink…don’t worry if you’re thirsty, we do provide water!
For ‘Hands On’ Classes
The group will be broken in to teams of 4 or 5 and each team will work together to prepare a selection of the recipes. We don’t have the time in the class for everyone to cook everything however you do get to EAT EVERYTHING!
Please wear flat, enclosed shoes have long hair tied up and sensible clothing (no flappy kaftans or tops), aprons are provided
For ‘Demo’ Classes
Just bring yourself, non of the above required!
Apart from that, bring yourself and a hunger to learn, cook and eat!
Most of our dinners are BYO unless it is stated as a 'Wine Dinner' where wine tastings will be provided
